Michael W. Clifford
Michael W. Clifford is presently a Senior Consultant for Global Technical Services. Mr. Clifford’s past employment includes over 40 years progressive experience in construction and maintenance in the petrochemical industry in the USA and in the Middle East. These activities encompassed management and supervisory direct hire positions with major petroleum producers.
Some of Mike’s past positions held have been: Asset Integrity Supervisor, Integrity & Reliability Supervisor, Project Quality Manager, QA Manager, QC Manager, Special Projects Director, Unit Supervisor, Field Supervisor, Lead QA Supervisor, Owner-User Inspector, and Lead Auditor and Auditor.
In addition, he has completed grass-roots development of business unit work processes and performance indicators including Facility Risk Assessments, Chemical and Corrosion Management Program for Production and Pipeline Operations, and cathodic protection systems for wells and pipelines. Mike established, implemented and managed pressure relief device and safety critical device inspection and test management programs for over 40,000 devices. He has developed maintenance processes and procedures designed to increase and sustain the integrity and reliability of process equipment.
Mike has functioned as the project quality team lead for integrated capital projects for all offshore projects and onshore pipeline and new production projects in the Northern Area of the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia.
He has successfully supervised multi-discipline, multi-cultural project Quality Assurance Inspection Teams; developed contract schedules related to quality and inspection and developed Operating and Business Plans at the Unit level. He has acted as Team Lead and team member on failure investigations of pipeline, process piping, tank, and pressure vessel failures.
He has also initiated and managed maintenance and capital projects associated with the repair, replacement, or alteration of numerous types of pressurized equipment.
His past and current technical certifications include: NDT Level III in MT and PT, API-510, AWS-SCWI, National Board Commission for the inspection of boilers and pressure vessels, National Board “S” endorsement for supervising National Board Authorized Boiler & Pressure Vessel Inspectors, NACE Coating Inspector CIP Level III, and IRCA QMS Lead Auditor.
